Southampton is a port first and a tourist town second, so the tours worth booking are the ones that use the port: the Titanic story on foot, the transfers that turn the Heathrow or London run into a day out, and the boats on the Solent. Everything below is bookable ahead with free cancellation on most products; prices show on the booking page for your date.

Titanic and the Old Town
Titanic private walking tour
A licensed guide walks the Titanic trail from the Bargate past the memorials to the dockside the ship left from, with the crew stories that SeaCity does not have room for. Private, so it starts when you want, including a cruise-day morning.
Book the Titanic walkTitanic self-guided audio tour
The same route in your ears, from the Bargate, works offline, start any time. The cheapest way to do the trail with context, about the price of a coffee.

Victory, the Mary Rose and the harbour tour, 45 minutes away by train. Tickets and the day plan on the Portsmouth page.
Portsmouth day tripHow to choose
With three hours before boarding, take the Titanic walk or the audio tour; both finish within ten minutes of the Western Docks. With a full pre-cruise day, the Isle of Wight or a boat trip. If you are arriving from Heathrow with an afternoon boarding, the Stonehenge transfer replaces the airport taxi and a separate day out. If you leave the ship with a late flight, the port-to-London tour is the only way to see Stonehenge, Salisbury and Windsor without a hire car.
Are there shore excursions in Southampton?
Yes: Titanic walks in the city, boat trips on the Solent, and private transfers that stop at Stonehenge, Salisbury or Windsor on the way to Heathrow or London.
How long is the Titanic walking tour in Southampton?
About two hours from the Bargate to the dockside, private tours start when you choose.
Can I visit Stonehenge between Heathrow and my cruise?
Yes, with a private transfer that stops there; allow about four hours door to door and book for a ship that boards in the afternoon.
